2008 Award Winners

Congratulations to Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. for receiving the 2008 ESBLN “Putting Ability to Work” Award at the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Luncheon on November 20, 2008. Accepting the award is Charissa Sipes, Michael Wigley, Bill McDaniel, Melissa Cullen and Max Verbits. Also pictured is Jackie Gast, Director, ESBLN.

Congratulations to Delmarva Recycling for earning the 2008 ESBLN “Putting Ability to Work” Certificate of Recognition. Accepting the certificate is Kim Straub-Dyess.
2007 Award Winners
The Eastern Shore Business Leadership Network recently honored two companies for their vision to see employment ability in all people, particularly people with disabilities, through its recruitment strategies. The ESBLN “Putting Ability to Work” Award was presented to Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

The ESBLN also presented Quality Staffing Services the ESBLN “Putting Ability to Work” Certificate of Recognition for its contributions towards creating employment opportunities and promoting the benefits of employing people with disabilities. Pictured to the right of Mitzi Scott is Maria Waller, President of Quality Staffing Services and Jackie Gast, Director of the ESBLN.
2006 Award Winners

The 2006 ESBLN “Putting Ability to Work” Award was presented to K & L Microwave, Inc. Pictured is Jackie Gast, ESBLN Director, accepting the award is Don Hoeler, General Manager, K&L Microwave, and Robin Hall, Sr. Human Resource Manager, K&L Microwave.

The 2006 ESBLN “Putting Ability to Work” Certificate of Recognition was awarded to Salisbury University Horticulture Department, accepting the award: Becky Johnson and Salisbury University Dining Services accepting the award: Dale Kovalik
Award Nominations
Requirements of the company being nominated:
- Must employ or have employed a person with a disability within the past 12 months
- Must have participated in sharing best practices of employing people with disabilities.
Submission process:
Nominations will be reviewed by an ESBLN award committee consisting of Business members. Self nominations are encouraged. Selection of winner will be weighted towards employment.
